We got out of the house for a little while and did some errands - all from the car! We chuckled as we went by some cottages on West Shore Road - at one there was someone mowing the lawn. Since it was barely 24 hours since the lawn had 3-4 inches of snow on it, we were totally surprised and at first glance thought they were rushing the season, as my mom used to say when I was a kid and wanted to wear shorts on the first warm day whether it was in March or May.

However, as we proceeded down West Shore Road, a couple more lawns had been mowed, so we began to wonder how come our lawn is still mostly brown and these are needing cutting already? I guess I'll settle for it being because we are a bit higher in elevation . . . or something. By the time we got to Danville we realized that as usual, things are different there than at Joe's Pond. Grass is greener, more flowers showing; and in St. Johnsbury, the ornamental apple trees are close to blooming. I'm pretty sure they haven't had nearly a foot of snow between the last two storms like we have. It would be good if we've seen the last snowflake falling for a few months.

It was good to get out of the house, but it seemed strange not going into stores as we normally would. I'm actually beginning to miss that. I never thought I'd miss shopping, but there it is. We have plenty to keep us busy at home - Fred is working on some new pages for the website and I'm putting last minute stuff together for our book. The writing is done, photos in place, captions written, and now we are all three, Patty, Dot and myself, going through to check for little glitches, repeated information, duplicate photos, etc. After we've come up with our acknowledgements, bios and such, we'll turn it all over to Linda, our editor! How good does that sound? You have no idea!!! Trouble is, now we three may have time on our hands and wonder what to do with it. But probably not. I'm planning on the weather being warm to hot and will take advantage of that to get the frost out of my bones and absorb some "D." And maybe do a little house cleaning . . . 😑
