If you were wondering what happened to the four lambs that were wandering about in the Old Homestead area yesterday, they are back home, safe and sound. We found out they belonged to Levi Bourne who lives in the Brickett's Crossing/Harrington Hill area. They apparently found the rail trail was a great place to get some exercise and forgot how to get back home. Levi caught up with them under a porch on Otis Drive last night. Poor lambs were probably pretty frightened and ready to be rescued.

Another hot, muggy day here at Joe's Pond. Very unusual weather for May. If this is an indicator of what summer is going to be like, I have to wonder if any virus would survive. We heard today that NYC is sanitizing their police cars with a new gadget Ford Motor Company came up with that will heat the cars to 115 degrees, thus killing the virus. This has been a problem as the officers rotate in and out of the cars all the time (nobody has his own cruiser) and they are picking up and transporting individuals who have goodness knows what - consequently, many officers have fallen ill with Covid-19 and have died. Sanitizing the cars is another way to help prevent the spread of the disease.

This is another example of contradictory information about how the virus spreads. Not long ago we were told the virus doesn't live long enough to be transmitted from materials - it has to be from direct human contact - sneezing, coughing, breathing on someone. I think this just shows us that there isn't enough solid information to really make any statements one way or the other. I'm going with masks are important, distancing is important, and sanitizing objects you are going to be touching or using is important. My groceries will still get a sudsing or an alcohol wipe before anything is put away. Also, when I see someone out in public without a mask, I feel they are disrespectful of others. We have to learn a lot more about this virus before we relax the rules. It's just the way things are right now.
