It was very cold here last night. I had a low of 3F when I looked this morning. It warmed up into the low 20s, and the sun was out for a while, but that didn't last. Now we're getting a dusting of snow - not much expected this far north, but the southern part of the state is getting clobbered. There is another storm heading this way that may make up for what we didn't get with this one!
Regular deer hunting is over as of sundown tonight, but there's still bow season from December 7-15. We haven't seen many hunters - at least not obvious hunters, the kind riding around in beat-up pickup trucks all decked out in hunter orange, scanning the roadside fields hoping to see a deer as they drive slowly along back roads. That's a lot more comfortable way to hunt than wading through snow in the bitter cold, I have to admit. I haven't noticed many of those hunters, but then, I'm facing the back lawn when I'm at my computer, and these cold days, I keep the window shades down to avoid cold drafts off the windows. It gets pretty dull not being able to see out, though, so if I'm working in the kitchen, I put the shade up a bit so I can see what's going on outside. Not when I'm at my computer, though. There isn't much going on out there anyway except blowing snow and an occasional turkey going by.
Stay warm and safe. Only 23 days until Christmas - just in case you haven't done your Christmas shopping yet.
