Butch Bouchard sent a short video of the ice that is working its way down the big pond today. It seems to be frozen a little below the islands and somewhat down the east side of the pond. I had a report that both the smaller ponds are frozen over. With temperatures this weekend near or below zero, the big pond will be frozen over, no doubt. A while back I had guessed it might be frozen over right around Thanksgiving, but right now it looks as if I was wrong and we'll have a completely frozen pond well before Thanksgiving. But it could open up again before it's frozen over for keeps.

We will try to get some pictures tomorrow. Fred has an appointment to get the winter tires put on the car (and we thought November 15th was early to have them put on!) Next year he may make the appointment November 1st!

Susan and Butch Bouchard are still here and Butch told me today they are thinking they'll leave more like on Halloween next year. This is the second year they have stayed for the nice late fall weather and instead got early winter weather. George and Pat Parizo went earlier than usual this year, too. I thought Jack and Sue LaGue were still here, but they have gone south already.

I really don't  mind being here all winter. When the weather is cold or nasty, I stay inside. Like today. We didn't get enough snow overnight to measure, so I didn't even have to go out on the deck for CoCoRaHS. I had my morning coffee at my computer and didn't budge from my office all morning. I really intended to get out for a walk, but I got busy and put off going until lunch time. Lunch time came and went and it seemed cold and windy so I thought I'd wait and perhaps go mid-afternoon, but the next thing I knew it was time for supper and getting dark. The good news is that I got a whole lot done today.
I'll get a walk in tomorrow, for sure. Unless it's too darned cold . . .
