Town in Vermont may have more responsibility forced upon them by the State, depending on court rulings about maintaining class four roads. Most towns have their own policies about these back roads and people who build homes or camps on them know that at the time they purchase the property. However, apparently there are now other considerations such as recent flooding and erosion policies set by the State that may require towns to rethink those policies.
