We didn't find ourselves in a white world this morning, but we've had a few snow flurries throughout the day.  It was one of those days when we can see the snow coming at us from Walden - the white fog-like mass seems to follow Route 15, but the outer edges of it reaches across the valley to us.  The pond has that deep blue-gray color that lets us know that water is cold and unfriendly.  Not a good time to be out there.  Tomorrow there is supposed to be lots of wind and more flurries, but we won't be getting much measurable snow.

Did you remember to set your clocks back?  I grumble every fall when it's time to make the change.  It usually takes me a while to get used to it - not so much in the spring, but now it seems as if we'll be doing nearly everything in the dark. Of course, in just a few weeks we'll experience the shortest day of the year, December 21, and from then on, each day we'll have just a few extra minutes of daylight, and that always helps.  It's November and December that are the darkest dreariest months.  The best thing about those two months are the holidays.  Time to start making plans, if you haven't already.

In the meantime, set your clocks back tonight and be sure the snow shovel is handy, just in case!
