Did you get lots of Trick or Treaters last night?  I wonder if you had as many as Homer and Margaret Fitts.  Here's the report I received this morning from Homer:

HI  -
EVEN WITH A PARTIALLY RAINY NIGHT,  WE HAD 163 ADULTS WITH 307 KIDS.     A NEW RECORD.      - 470 -
WE DID NOT RUN OUT OF CANDY AS WE PLANNED AHEAD AS WE HAD I THINK 327 TOTAL LAST YEAR.   MARGARET THOUGHT THAT WAS TOO MANY.
MARGARET'S GREAT GRAND DAUGHTER DELANEE HILL FROM MONTPELIER WAS HERE HELPING GIVE OUT THE CANDY.    ALSO MARGARET'S DAUGHTER LEE AND GRAND DAUGHTER JESSI WERE HERE.   THAT MADE FOUR GENERATIONS ALL TOGETHER.    HAD SOUP AND PIZZA AT BREAKS.    WAS A FUN TIME.
                                        HOMER AND MARGARET
I can't imagine having that many come for Halloween.  Even when we were in St. Johnsbury, I doubt the count was even close to Homer's.  We didn't have anyone come last night - and really didn't expect to.  We always have some candy and apples on hand, just in case, but over the years we've lived on W. Shore Road, I think we've had only three or four kids come trick or treating.

We are getting the rain and wind, as promised today, and I measured 1.26 in. of precipitation in my gauge this morning.  It has rained fairly steadily all morning - not hard except there have been a couple of squalls moving through that sent rain pelting against the windows.  I opted not to walk today - I will wait until it's less windy.  With the gusty winds we have today, I'd be without my umbrella and soaked in no time.  Fred, on the other hand, will run up the hill to check on Otto and Rico and won't mind the rain.  Ok, so I'm a wuss.
