Mystery Solved!

Well, that didn't take very long!  I've had two people contact me, and both said it was Hubbard Park in Montpelier.  One sent this picture of the tower showing the irregular shape of the stonework from the outside (the pictures were taken inside) and it certainly seems logical to me.  Another responder said he was 100% certain it was the tower at Hubbard Park.  That's good enough for me, and I think the Odell's daughter-in-law will be very happy to have the mystery solved.

Just for comparison, I've included the pictures from 1948, and it looks like they were standing by the highest point of the tower in the two horizontal pictures, and then the bride, Mary, was standing outside at the foot of the tower, beside one of the openings.  You can even see the wall in back of her that corresponds to the one shown in the more recent picture.

My thanks to both responders for their keen eye and prompt responses.
