This is a picture of the pond in Goshen, MA, where Bob Labrie has a contest very much like ours going on. They always get spring a little ahead of us, and their pond certainly looks a lot different than ours. In fact, as I write this, there are snowflakes in the air. The thermometer has dropped a bit, and while some areas are probably getting the predicted rain showers, our precipitation is (of course!) falling as snow. The sun is still trying to shine occasionally, but not making much headway through the snow showers. This is March weather in April, I think. However, it all works out in the end, and spring will arrive, more or less on time.
