It's Sunday and it's raining at Joe's Pond.  We've had a quick switch overnight from the deep cold temperatures the last few days to rain and temps in the 30's today.  According to my thermometer, we had a high sometime today of 42 degrees, but it's 37 now, and I expect it's falling.  This could be a tough night to travel, especially on our back roads, if they ice over.  I think the road crews are using the brine on the main roads now, but I guess it gets washed off if it's raining.  The forecast has temperatures in the 40's for the first of the week, and perhaps some snow on Wednesday.  Whatever snow we've had will be gone by tomorrow, I expect.

I'm sure lots of you know the Patty and Dwight Coffrin who have a camp on the Route 2 side of the narrows between the middle and big pondsI received a nice note from Kathryn, their daughter, who was married this summer and had her reception at the JPA pavilion.  She sent pictures, and I've made a short slide show.  The groom is Jacob Houston, of Cabot.  He works for Arctic Slope Regional Corporation in Alaska, and Kathryn works for Central Vermont Medical Center.  They live in Barre. This picture is the bride and groom and their Boxer puppy, Bentley.  It was nice that Bentley was included in the festivities.

Members of the wedding party pictured here are:  Bridesmaids, Alexandria Simmons (Jacob's sister); Amanda Kennedy; Nikki Bristol; Nicole Clark; Lori Badolato; Seandell Parker (maid of honor; Jared Hatch, (best man); Ryan Lamery; Jon Lessard; T.J.Coffrin (bride's brother).  Children in front of the group are Angelica Mackenzie(Jacob's sister); Rose and Mia Houston (Jacob's daughters).

Kathryn said the day was perfect and everyone had a great time.  Guests were invited to take home home made raspberry jam, red pepper jelly, apple sauce, strawberry jam or hot mustard preserves that Kathryn and her mom had made for favors.  What a nice idea!  Donna Davis from East Burke took all these great photos.  Here's one picture that didn't get in the slide show.  It's Kathryn's mom and her siblings:  left to right, Patty Coffrin, Fred Pirie and Joan (Pirie) Trombley, taken at the wedding.  We wish Kathryn and Jacob all the best.
