We just came back from a walk a little while ago. We've had snow showers all day long, and now the temperature is dropping and already is at last night's low of 26 degrees. We expect temps in the teens here tonight. We've had a biting wind, too, so it's seeming a lot more like winter than we've experienced in the past few weeks.
We took some pictures along the way, stopped to chat with Johnny Doyon who is cutting the lumber on Don Encarnacion's, stopped briefly at Bill and Diane Rossi's and then hurried home before it turned dark. We were facing the wind on the way home, and it was pretty chilly. I should have dug out my mittens to wear over my gloves, but I didn't think I'd need them. Turned out to be quite a bit colder than I thought, and I wished I had them. It was nice, though - snowflakes drifting down most of the time we were out. It hasn't snowed really hard except for an occasional squall, but the hills in Walden that are a bit higher than we are are very white and wintery looking. Here is a very short slide show so you can see how dismal the pond is right now.
Bill and Diane told us Phil and Joyce Rogers have sold their home to a family with ties to Danville. We'll have more information later on, I'm sure. We'll miss Joyce and Phil who have lived here for quite a number of years. They only recently bought a place in Florida, but had been year 'rounders until then. The new family has young children, so that will be nice.
