These photos and the following message came this morning from Evelyn and Ray Richer.  Those of you looking for help in cleaning up after the storm will be interested in this:

I just wanted to touch base... after the storm and all... Looks like everyone got hit pretty hard around the pond!!

Behind Mom's place there's a 'new' back alley!! There's about 50 trees down laying neatly as if dominoes cutting a clear highway back there...
no twisting at all just a straight line (like a freight train came through)... Then only a few feet away, she had a resin chair tipped over... but not moved. The trees are mature spruce and huge! We thought we had lost our apple tree, but Ray managed to give it a good pruning while it lay on the ground, and we pulled it back up with the tractor and he propped it up... it's a bit 'funky' but still standing and no wilting
yet... so we have hopes the ol' gal will hang in there for us... Then of course our biggest problem was we had two chain saws that didn't want to work!! (too old I guess) anyhow Ray went about clearing our driveway of several trees that crossed and blocked the way out with a bow saw that I gave him for Christmas... (he now wishes he had gotten a new chainsaw for Christmas!!) But he cleared us up by using ol' fashioned methods... (boy is he sore today!!)

Anyway, the reason I wanted to share this with you is we have made contact with a young man who is a saving grace!!! His name is Cory Costello out of Walden...(603.662.2487) he is a Certified Arborist! You see we had five trees leaning on each other and all five of them could reach the house if they let go, they were suspended over the house. They were a dangerous threat to the house... Cory and his helper (Bob Langevin, also from Walden) came this morning and they have miraculously and 'surgically' cut the threatening trees away and are in the process of removing the other threatening trees as well.

HE IS IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE!!! We spoke with him last night and the boys were here at 7:15 this morning!!!

I have attached some photos so you can see how they work... VERY PROFESSIONAL!!

Anyone needing any such help to clear away some threatening trees on your property, either trees too close to your camp or your neighbors this guy is your man!!! He's a careful and safe professional, and does not use big damaging equipment!! Just ropes and cables and chain saws... and he is a very nice young man... (and of course Bob is a sweetheart too!)

We are so very impressed with them!! I just wanted to pass this along!! Check out the photos... the long range one will show you how high up he is, and it's hard to see but there are four trees leaning on the one he is on...

Thanks Jane... hope you and Fred made out okay!!

Blessings, Evelyn

Another Adventure

This week turned out to be a doozie for me. I had anticipated going for a follow-up on my knee on Monday, but instead ended up in the ER at ...
