Our sincere condolences to the Beattie family in the loss of their loved one, Occie.  He was the oldest son in the family, the one who stayed on to operate the farm.  Harold "Occie" Beattie, Jr., died on Thursday, May 31.  While you may not have known Occie personally, many of us know members of his family, his mom, Catharine, brother Marty (Marty's 1st Stop), Tom (Diamond Hill Store), sisters Kitty (Toll Island and state representative), and Jane (state senator), and others in this prominent and respected Danville family.
