I had a short e-mail from Don and Diane Sherwood this morning:

Hi Jane and Fred,
It sounds as if you are finally having winter! Too bad we are not coming back north to ski, but we've had a terrific month plus here in Venice, FL. A while ago we and the Rouleaus drove down to Punta Gorda to meet the Aimis and Rickers for brunch. Here is a picture of the happy group. We are all looking forward to getting back to Joe's for another season. Until then, we hope winter doesn't linger too long!

Great group picture and we thank Don for sending it to us. Now that we have all this beautiful snow, I guess I'm happy to wait for summer to come to Vermont, but maybe I envy them just a little . . . it sure looks nice.

Just a quick weather report - 46 degrees and sunny breaks this afternoon. We had a little rain earlier, but I think there's more ahead, and perhaps strong winds by tonight. It's going to get colder and snow showers are predicted, but nothing too serious.

Cold Night!

We had a really cold night last night - I had a low of 14.4F and Diane told me there was a lot of ice around the rim of the pond this mornin...
