Diane Rossi says it's spring at her house - and we know it's a special day for her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Diane!

It was in the single numbers above zero last night, with some wind, so we weren't thinking "spring" then, or today, either. It's only 11 above now, and there is a little snow in the air.

The weather for Town Meeting tomorrow will be milder - more normal for March. There have been some years when it was below zero and blowing a gale - other years when we've had to navigate long stretches of muddy roads to get there - but this year we seem to have lucked out. We hope the turnout will be good.

I'm well into getting the Joe's Pond Association newsletter together, and have had a few nice items come in for the news column. I'm always happy to have announcements of new babies, weddings, graduations and other achievements our Joe's Pond families have experienced over the past year, so send photos and a short description of your event so I can include it. I'm setting a deadline of March 15 - more or less, just in case our weather turns really warm and the ice goes out early. I like to publish the newsletter as soon as possible after we have a winner of the Ice-Out Contest.

I'm also looking for ads from local businesses. I'll contact those that have had space in the newsletter in the past, but if you have a new business or haven't been contacted and would like to be included, get in touch - janebrown@joespondvermont.com We have reasonable rates for business cards or larger ads, and the newsletter goes to just over 300 folks around or associated with Joe's Pond.
