Hi all. Thanks for your support of bringing Front Porch Forum to Cabot. The site is now live... if you haven't already, please sign up at FrontPorchForum.com

And then please take two more steps...

1. Recruit neighbors to join... send them to FrontPorchForum.com

2. And submit postings... either via our website or email them to cabot@frontporchforum.com

. . . It typically takes many weeks to get a critical mass of neighbors signed up, and people often need to hear about FPF 5-10 times before they actually go to the site and register. Persistence is key!

Thanks again and best wishes. -Michael

From Jeannie Johnson: Hopefully, all members of the Development group have received this message directly. It's really easy to sign up, and they give you the option to also sign up for the Hardwick-Walden Front Porch Forum. Please help us get the word out to your friends and neighbors.
Thank you, Planning Commission, UDAG Committee and Wendy Heilig for running with the ball. We're LIVE!!! (I hope somebody finds that poor cat!)

This will be an interesting experiment for Cabot and the Hardwick-Walden area residents. I have joined - I hope it will be a nice extension of our web site, with an
objective that is both different and similar. Our objective is to bring the Joe's Pond community together with the area towns as well as help members of our Joe's Pond Association members keep in touch throughout the year, no matter where they are.

We're getting some snow this afternoon. Our thermometer is registering 33 degrees, but the precipitation is still falling as snow. It was pretty co
ld last night - we had a low of 20.3 degrees. It was predicted temperatures would go much lower than than, and I expect they may have in some areas, but not here, according to my new thermometer. Fred took this picture a little while ago when it started snowing. The ground is pretty much white now although it isn't building up very fast. It's just showing up on the trees and grass and some places on the dirt road, but melting when it hits our paved driveway.

We had to go to St. Johnsbury again today. It's becoming a daily routine! I dropped Fred off for an appointment and made a quick run to the mall. On my way there I passed a field that had been planted to corn, and there was a really big flock of turkeys feeding there. I was kind of in a hurry so didn't stop to get a picture, thinking I'd get one on the way back. The turkeys had all disappeared by the time I came by again about 30 minutes later. I had to wonder where they would go to feel safe as it was in a fairly populated area in back of St. Johnsbury Center. Lesson learned: Take the picture when the opportunity presents.

We're impressed at how well the village of Danville is cleaning up after the work done this summer. I suppose we all have at least one more summer like last to look forward to there, although it seems some aspects of being torn up may have improved after complaints were lodged causing some changes in tactics by the construction supervisors. We hope the learning curve is still in place next spring.

Spring Mix!

I started this a couple days ago but got kind of busy and never got back to it. I had posted about the Route 2 construction, but that notice...
