Upcoming Events at the Jaquith Public Library in Marshfield at the Old Schoolhouse Common:

The Monthly Book Group meets on the fourth Monday of every month. There is no group in December. The January book is Cutting for Stone by Abraham Vergese. The discussion of the book will be on Jan. 23, 2012. Please join us for this stimulating way to meet with other people and talk about books!

Tuesday, December 6, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.: Button-up Workshop at the Cabot Library. Button-up Vermont is an educational workshop designed to help Vermont homeowners understand the steps they can take to make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable. This is a co-sponsored event of the Jaquith and Cabot Libraries.

Wednesday, December 7 at 7 p.m. Classic Film: Adam’s Rib (1949), directed by George Cukor. This classic battle-of-the-sexes stars Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy as a married couple who are also trial attorneys duking it out on opposite sides of a celebrated divorce case.

Sunday, December 11, Sunday from 3-5 p.m.: Performance Shakespeare - Performing Elizabethan Verse with Jim Hogue. If you think that performing Elizabethan texts so that audiences understand what you are saying and thinking and doing is worthwhile- then come to this workshop! For people of all ages.

Wednesday, December 14 at 7 p.m. Local Author Reading with Sam Stockwell. Sam is a poet with a beautiful feel for words, people and life. She will read from her collection.
