Work Update
Danville Route 2 Project
Project: Danville FEGC 028-3(32)
WEEK OF AUGUST 15TH, 2011
Pike Industries will continue work on the Danville Route 2 project as follows:
Starting Monday, crews will be working on the corner of Route 2 and Hill Street installing water line.
Hill Street: Monday, crews will be excavating on the east side of Hill Street from the entrance to Hill Street from Route 2 extending about 100 feet. While crews are working in this area, parking for Diamond Hill Store and Bentley’s Bakery will be temporarily relocated across the street in front of the Dole Block. A flag person will be present to assist patrons in getting in and out of the parking areas. Crews plan to maintain two-way traffic on Hill Street. This work is expected to last through Tuesday unless unexpected problems are encountered.
Once crews finish on Hill Street, they will move back out on Route 2 between Marty’s and the Village Green to continue installing storm drain.
VAOT will be performing contaminated soils exploratory work in the westbound lane of Route 2 across from the Passumpsic Savings Bank. Two-way traffic will be maintained in this area.
Motorists can expect traffic delays from the alternating one-way traffic around the construction zone. Traffic control will be present to maintain traffic flow. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly for delays.
