Work Update
Danville Route 2 Project
Project: Danville FEGC 028-3(32)
Week of July 11th, 2011
Pike Industries will be performing the following work on the Danville Route 2 project as follows:
Waterline and storm drain work will continue between Marty’s Store and Smith Street in the westbound lane of Route 2. The work will remain centered in this area for most of the week and will require lane closures.
Blasting: Crews will start blasting on Park Street Monday and continue through the week. The blasting zone will begin across from the Post Office and continue towards Smith Street. If time allows, crews will then mobilize the blasting operation to Route 2. More details will follow mid week.
With regards to blasting, traffic will be held for 5 minutes before the actual blast and then continue to be held post blast until the roadway is cleared of debris and rebuilt for safe passage. Each blast will bring different results so the wait time after blasting is unknown at this time. Crews will work to keep post blast hold times as short as possible.
Traffic delays can be expected in and around the project for the entire week. Traffic control will be present to maintain traffic flow at all times. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.
