WISHING YOU ALL A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!!

Work Update

Danville Route 2 Project

Project: Danville FEGC 028-3(32)

Week of July 4th, 2011

In observance of Independence Day, no work will be performed on the project Monday, July 4th. Work will resume on Tuesday, July 5th.

Pike Industries will be performing the following work on the Danville Route 2 project as follows:

Waterline and storm drain work will continue between Marty’s Store and Smith Street in the westbound lane of Route 2. The work will remain centered in this area for most of the week and will require lane closures.

Water Interruption: Wednesday, July 6th, from 9am-11am, there will be an interruption in water service on Brainard Street from the intersection with Smith Street to the cemetery.

Blasting: Crews will start blasting on Park Street Wednesday and continue through the week. The blasting zone will begin across from the Post Office and continue towards Smith Street. Please note this particular blasting zone will not include Route 2, only Park Street.

With regards to blasting, traffic will be held for 5 minutes before the actual blast and then continue to be held post blast until the roadway is cleared of debris and rebuilt for safe passage. Each blast will bring different results so the wait time after blasting is unknown at this time. Crews will work to keep post blast hold times as short as possible.

All work this week will start at 8 am each day.

Traffic delays can be expected in and around the project for the entire week. Traffic control will be present to maintain traffic flow at all times. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.
