Washington county has now received designation by FEMA for the provision of direct assistance to individuals and businesses. The designation was officially made last Friday, July 8th. Those with flood damage must apply within 60 days or before September 6th.

To register with FEMA and apply for assistance, call 1-800-621-FEMA. Plan on a 15 to 30 minute interview and it is best to make this call from home or where one keeps their personal records.

Encourage people to call now, don't wait! FEMA has set up at the Barre "aud" also, so folks can go to the Barre auditorium to meet with FEMA and get personal assistance.

Applying online is very easy, also at: www.disasterassistance.gov . the May 26/27 flood is disaster #4001 and you will be given a personal registration id. Filling out the disaster application took me about 15 mins.
