Don Sherwood was on hand Saturday when Northstar Fireworks were setting up the display for our show on Saturday night. He took some pictures and I've made a slide show of them.

Here's a few pictures of the Northstar team setting up for our show. I thought that our Joes Pond campers might like to see what goes into the evenings festivities. This year was done electronically as you can see the wires that are all attached to each shot. They are then connected to a yellow control box; several were necessary for our show. It took most of the day to set them all up. If you happened to hear/see a shot that went up late in the afternoon, they sent up a test shot to check out the wind. This is a safety precaution that is done before the final positioning of each set of tubes containing the fireworks.
All in all, it was a real fine display! Much thanks to our special annonymous doners who added an additional $2,500.00 to our yearly allotment of $4,500.00. I hope that they were pleased with the fireworks display.

Here is the slide show of Don's pictures: Setting Up Fireworks

For those of you who have asked, our daughter-in-law, Monika, went to the hospital Sunday evening. Her doctor thought it best to move things along a bit, but when Bill called last night around 9:30, nothing was happening. We are on pins and needles waiting to hear, but no word yet. We are likely to have a Fourth of July granddaughter, but then again, these things can't be rushed. We're staying near the phone, though.

Joe's Pond Association always does a wonderful job in seeing that not only those who are members and camp owners enjoy a great Fourth of July fireworks display but all the residents of the area do as well. That was a very nice shoot and kudos to the association and the "secret" donor who kicked in that extra cash.
God Bless America!!
