We had a message from Brad Rouleau ot 196 Sandy Beach Road that he lost a dock bumper in the high water last week. If you find it, give him a call at 563-2355 or 272-1873.
Here is the rest of the "bear story" (turns out the woman who was injured lives quite near us off Dubray Road near the Plains Cemetery): Bear Attack
We are glad Jessica wasn't badly hurt and that the sow and her cubs are going to be allowed to go about their business. Her experience reinforces what wildlife experts keep telling us, that it's a really bad idea to feed the birds in the summer when bears are out and about. When people do that, they are doing the bears an injustice because then they get accustomed to humans and there is a greater chance of altercations when wild animal and humans exist too closely. When someone gets hurt, the bear ends up having to be killed. It may be fun watching the bear close up and personal, but it could cost the bear its life.
