Click on image to enlarge. We are glad to have Twinfield School sending us notices. This sounds like a really nice way to raise money and give mom's an end-of-the-week break. The nice part is you don't HAVE to be a mom to go - everyone is welcome, and you'll be supporting a good cause.

That reminds me - I understand the Rte 2 project along Molly's Falls Dam is already under way. We haven't been down that way in a while, but Bill Rossi said they've started work. It's only about a 1.5 mile stretch, but will last until June, '12. It is 95% Federally funded. Danville's project should be starting up soon - that is also 95% Federally funded. There will be on-going paving state wide. The roads in general seem to have taken an unusual beating over the winter. There are lots of potholes and rough patches. I guess it was a bad winter for roads everywhere.

I saw Garey at the post office this morning and he wanted me to thank those of you who have already contacted him to let him know when you're headed back to Joe's Pond so your mail isn't waiting someplace where you aren't. He's heard from quite a few of you so there shouldn't even be a hiccup in receiving your important mail. He told me again that due to new government regulations, if he hasn't received orders from you, he may not be able to be sure your mail ends up where you are in a timely fashion. So let him know a few days ahead when you'll be arriving back at Joe's Pond.

Weather is pretty nice here today, but a little cooler than it was yesterday. There are a few high, thin clouds that keep filtering out the sun, but still we're at about 65 degrees - perfect for working outside.

Diane Rossi told me this morning there were a couple of kayaks out over the weekend and she's seen one motor boat. Things are getting back to normal, and unless we get an awful lot of rain in the next few drizzly days, the water level should remain good.

We're experiencing some muddy spots on our W. Shore Road still - as usual when we get a bad mud season, when one spot gets fixed there's another one or two spots that go bad. Danville has fixed most of their end of the road, but just before Barre Avenue it is breaking out again this morning. The bad spots by Mason's and further up at Rouleau's and Rossi's are now good, but today by Gardner's and the Dudley/Flannigan cottage, it's pretty bad with big sags and humps. All is passable, but you need to slow down and pick your way carefully.
