Sad news tonight. I just had a brief message from Patti Powell Nichols (Edgewood Ave) to let me know her mother, Kay Powell, passed away today after having had a stroke last weekend. I don't have further details, but there will be more information in a day or so and I will update you then. Kay was living with daughter Ginger Erdmann and her husband, Lee, in Hartford, CT.
Kay and her late husband, Don, had been active Joe's Ponders for many years, in the interesting gray and orange cottage high above the water on Edgewood Avenue, and for the last several years, Kay has spent time with Ginger and Lee at their cottage on Clubhouse Circle. Kay was very much a grand lady and she will be missed by the many people who have been privileged to know her.
