The storm didn't last very long and wasn't very strong. Earlier in the afternoon we had a real downpour for a few minutes, but no thunder or lightning. Tonight's weather forecast has snow flurries predicted for later in the week . . . !

We had a thunder storm roll through around dinner time tonight. It wasn't too severe, but there wa
s quite a lot of wind with it and rain before the sun came out. When it was about over, the sun began to break through the clouds and we saw a beautiful double rainbow over the pond. It was more vertical than usual, stretching from right over Swanson's cottage on Island Drive overhead to disappear in the woods beyond our house. At first we didn't see the second, lighter display of colors, but it got gradually brighter. I took several pictures from our living room windows, first looking across the pond towards Rt. 15, and then I realized it actually arched all the way overhead and came down seemingly in our woods southeast of our house. I then went outside, but I couldn't get all of it in one shot, it was just too huge from where I was on our lawn. Really pretty, though.
