I took a picture of my daffodils this morning and decided I should use it at the top of my blog instead of the perky ones I had there. They look pretty sad, don't they?

I picked most of them and brought them in. I expect they would have recovered nicely when the snow melts, but I wanted to be able to enjoy them. Anyway, there are lots more buds, so the few I picked won't be missed outside. I hadn't realized until I looked at this photo there were big drops of water on the camera lens. It was raining just a tad when I was outside.

I can't tell if there's anything else budded in the flower garden, there's still snow on the ground in most places and while there's green poking through, everything is bent out of shape. It'll pop back when the snow's gone.

I had several announcements come in during the night. Here they are:

Hi there!

If folks are interested, I have the following request:

Isabel Maine, a 2nd grader at Cabot School, is raising funds for her fellow DestiNation ImagiNation team members to travel to Knoxville, TN in May. Their team won first place in the State finals for their presentation about Waterbears, and they'd like to share their creativity with others - from around the country and the world!

You can help: Isabel is looking for sponsors to pledge any amount per mile of Vermont's roads and byways that she will clean between Earth Day (April 22) and Green Up Day.

To find out more or make a pledge, write to Lars Torres at lhtorres@gmail.com

Thank you!
