Middle son, Bob, sent that to us - the dog looks a lot like their dog, Casey . . .
Ok, it's been a long day and I've been immersed in historical stuff, so I needed something silly for a change.
To catch up on the loon family here at Joe's Pond - the female showed up today. Evelyn said they saw both the male and female early this morning, but then Evelyn and Ray both were busy and lost track of them. They were cruising somewhere on the pond, Evelyn said. Perhaps they were down near Ray Rouleau's. Ray and Cyndy are back and Ray was enjoying watching the wildlife on the pond last evening. We're always glad when people begin to come back for the summer.
Bill Rossi got in touch with the Danville road crew today about Danville's end of West Shore Road. He said the mud situation there was getting pretty bad, but they came right away and worked on it. We saw Cabot's truck going by early this morning, so I guess they were working in this area, too. Someone said the culvert on Sandy Beach Road was washing out again . . .

I came across several pictures in the Cabot Historical Society collection that weren't identified. The people in both of these seem familiar, but I can't figure out who they are. I'd love to hear from someone who knows. I think the three are father, son and mother - and are definitely Cabot folks. I think it might be part of the Ducharme family, but I'm not sure, and taken probably in the 1940's. I don't have a clue who the bride and groom are, but the groom looks familiar. There was no identification on either of the photos,

There are a few other photos we hope to identify, and I'm going to be putting them on the Cabot Historical Society web page soon. I'm working on the web site - in my spare time.
The "Comments Page" on our Joe's Pond web site is becoming more active recently. People who have used it to sell items seem to have pretty good luck. Keep your eye on it - and if you have something you want to post, it's easy to do. It doesn't have to be something for sale; it can be a general comment about anything at all, or even a gripe. Just keep it clean and civil.
By the way, Chef John "Woody" Woods told us last week he's going to be open soon, so we're watching for that to happen and will let you know. He said he may have a limited menu at first, but will expand later in the summer when there are more people around. I guess the flowers he's planning to put out will have to wait a bit. We're expecting frosts for the next few nights. That will be tough on some of the flowers and trees that have budded early. The WCAX weather guy tonight said nights will be "colder than normal for April and days will be warmer than normal." One thing is certain - we can't do anything about it but complain. And that's NORMAL.
