We have had a few snow flurries this morning and it's snowing lightly, like most of the other days for the past couple of weeks, but not building up much at all so far.

I had an e-mail from Liz Randall on Long Island, NY, with a slide show of their area. She named it "Blizzard Feb 10, 2010." It is a lot of snow for them, and I think today they may be getting more throughout the day with lots of wind, but by the looks of the temperatures there later this week, it'll all be gone very soon. I guess we should feel fortunate we aren't dealing with lots of heavy, wet snow like southern New England, but we could still do with a little more around here! I guess we'll just have to wait for March to deliver a one-two punch, like so often happens.

In the meantime, lots of loads of logs and wood chips going out of here, we guess from either the Leinoff property directly above us or from the Maynard property opposite the Plains School. Fred and I will try to get some pictures of both operations soon. Always when someone decides to harvest the lumber around here I marvel at how much there is. The soft wood grows back very quickly, but it sure changes the look of things.
