Tom Beattie at Diamond Hill Store called today to let me know an old friend, Bill Lederer has died. I worked for Bill for several years when he lived in on East Hill in Peacham, and missed him after he left the area to move to Florida. More recently he was in a nursing home in the Baltimore, MD area, where he died on December 5th. This photo appeared on the jacket of several of his books. Here is a link to his obituary: William J. Lederer

Many area people will remember him as one of the local eccentrics and also as a member of the Dowsers' Association. He was a kind and generous man and a patriotic American. His burial at Arlington National Cemetery is most appropriate.
