The pond had some "cat ice" on it behind the islands this morning. We will be getting rain later today and tomorrow, so that will probably warm things up a bit. I know some of you are wondering how the ice is freezing this year compared to other years so you can make a better guess about the Ice-Out Contest, so you need to have this sort of information. I can tell you that a couple years ago when we had bare ground and open water right up to Christmas it didn't make that much difference in when the ice went out. But don't forget - all the dates are listed on the web site so you can get a feel for the history and what date to pick. You'll find the information under "Joe's Pond Assn" on the home page menu.
