There are lots of tourists in the area. On Friday

Fred chatted with one of the men on the tour - his picture is on the rig

Today was Danville's "Autumn on the Green" event. I hadn't been for many years - in fact, Danville used to be part of the first Fall Foliage Week, but they dropped out after a few years because they wanted to do their own thing on a weekend. It has worked out very well for them, I believe. I can't tell you how many vendors there were - at least 75, I'd guess. It was a tent city. There were far more there than are at either the Danville Fair or Farmers' Market. I think everyone showed up for this. There were lots of food vendors, even wine tasting and a vodka maker. Lots and lots of home-made everything. There were very interesting crafts and some antiques - just about anything one might want was there, and a very big crowd.
We went with Bill and Diane Rossi to get a hotdog for lunch. Fred and I opted for chicken pie, which was very good, and splurged on a huge piece of home-made chocolate fudge! Bill and Diane had a sausage roll sandwich, filled with not just sausage, but lots of veggies. It looked really good, too. Diane got cookies, but we kept finding people we knew and Bill was giving everyone a cookie, so they didn't last. Diane said they were good, too.
We saw lots of folks we knew - lots of Joe's Ponders. I'm putting photos into a slide show and I'm sure you'll pick out familiar faces.
When we left there, we took a ride out the back road to Walden. The foliage was very nice, and we also saw lots of new houses we hadn't realized were there. You'll see a picture of the Walden School, also, we took a quick trip up Cahoon Farm Road to see the foliage, then on Harrington Hill Road back to Brickett's Crossing Road and home where we found Ray Rouleau busy mowing his lawn, probably for the last or nearly the last time this year.
Once back home, the day seemed to fade, and right now it looks about to rain - again. But we won't complain. Fall Foliage Week is over, Walden and Cabot lucked out weatherwise, and Danville must have had a very successful day. Here are the photos:
