HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
The wild weather continued through the night and into this morning here with high winds, but as far as I know there's been no real damage. Things are calming down a bit now, but it's still cool (about 38 outside my window), breezy and wettish. My computer is not accepting "wettish" as a word, but that's the way it is, with sprinkles, cold mist, and an occasional shower happening under a thick cloud cover.
Here's a message I received from Steve and Bev Allen this morning, titled, "Hail, Yes!":
Jane,
We were interested to read your account of yesterday's storm in the Blog. What a difference 20 miles makes! We spent a nice day at Camp, arriving back in Ryegate just in time for a furious 5 PM thunderstorm, complete with jagged ice cube size hail and high winds! We had a total 1.07" of precipitation in the storm, which for a while was heavy enough so we couldn't see out of our windows. Makes us long for the tranquility of Joe's Pond...
Best,
Steve & Bev
We're glad Steve and Bev made it home before that storm hit. Not good to be traveling in that kind of weather. While we at Joe's Pond had nothing as severe as surrounding areas, in the past we've had some whopping good summer storms that seemed to come out of the blue, so I guess we'd better thank Mother Nature for going easy on us yesterday and today. So, have a wonderful day, everyone, Mother Nature included!
We're off to be honored by the Dimick boys at Bill and Monika's home in Waterford.
