I guess lots of you already know that Danville's town clerk, Ginnie Morse, retired a while back, and Wendy Somers has taken her place.

In Cabot, long-time assistant town clerk, Velma White, retired, too. Linda Lemay-Richards has been hired to replace her. Linda will begin work on April 21. I haven't met her yet, but she lives in East Hardwick and is a member of the Vermont Air Guard.

Here at Joe's Pond this morning we've had beautiful sunshine, but the air is still cold and there's a brisk wind. The thermometer on the shady side of our house isn't out of the 30's yet, but it has warmed up from the 22 degrees it was registering at around six o'clock. We're expecting some decently warm days this week, but cool nights, so perhaps we can avoid flooding problems.

I had an e-mail this morning from Liz Randall. Son, Jason, and his fiancee, Kerrin, have set a date for their wedding. Here's the announcement:

Mr. and Mrs. John F. Randall of Miller Place, NY and Joes Pond, Cabot, VT are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Jason Charles Randall to Kerrin Leslie Wilmarth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry J. Wilmarth of Salem, NH.

Jason is a graduate of Miller Place High School in New York. He received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Science, with a Minor in Geology from Lyndon State College. He works at Eastern Analytical, Inc. in Concord, NH as an Environmental Field Technician.

Kerrin is a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, NH. She received her Bachelor of Science in Television Production, with a Minor in Music Studies from Lyndon State College. She works at the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association in Concord, NH as a Sports Secretary.

Jason and Kerrin met at Lyndon State College in Lyndon, VT in 2006.

The wedding date has been set for Saturday, October 10, 2009 at The West Monitor Barn, Richmond, Vermont. The barn is owned by the Vermont Youth Conservation Corp. and all proceeds from renting the barn go towards funding their youth programs in agriculture and natural resource.
