Hi Jane,
Camilla and I had a great weekend with our son Tom, his wife Liz and our two grand kids, Isabella and Nicholas; we went to the New York City Marathon! Tom and family live in New Rochelle, NY and he is a runner. He began running about 3 years ago and has progressed to where he is quite comfortable running in marathons (26.2 miles). He has run the marathons in New Jersey, San Francisco, New Orleans and New York. His favorite is the New York Marathon. Liz, Nicholas, Isabella Camilla and I watched the New York

P.S.-By the way, the tee shirt message that Tom is wearing has meaning; the intent is to use good parenting skills so the child demons DON'T appear. Thought I would explain that before questions come in.
What fun! Thanks for sending this, Tom and Camilla. I know the whole family is proud of son, Tom. To be in the top 13% of 38,000 entrants is really impressive.

We took these pictures on the way to Cabot Village this morning. The flock of turkeys were in the hayfield near the Cabot Plains School.
Then, at the Burtt farm just before the intersection of Cabot Plains Road and Rt. 215, the cattle were close to the road contentedly munching on . . . I bet you'd never guess . . . pumpkins! I always wondered what farmers did with all the leftover Halloween pumpkins. Apparently the cattle really like them
.
Later, on our way home, as we approached the Burtt farm, there was another flock of turkeys far up in their big field and also some Canada geese taking a rest next to the cornfield that had been cut off. I imagine they had all found plenty of food there and would rest a spell before continuing on their way south. I imagine the birds may eventually find the leftovers from the pumpkin feast - the seeds would be a real treat, I bet.
Today has been cloudy but not very cold. We still have patches of snow here and there from last week's storm, but the next couple of days will take care of that and get us spoiled for our next weather coming this weekend.
I'm taking a mini-vacation from the computer, but will be back on-line by Friday. I think Fred will have some web site news about then . . .
