Good morning from snowy Joe's Pond! Yep, the snow is sticking at this level. We were in St. Johnsbury yesterday and there was no snow there. Monday night when I went to Cabot Village, there was considerably more snow on the Plain and especially arount the Cabot Plain Cemetery. I found dense fog at that level, too. It was very dark, and the fog was lying just at the level of the cemetery. It was clear as I drove down the hill north of the cemetery and the snow cover continued to diminish until there was only a skimming in the village.

Fred took some pictures on our way yesterday morning - including one as we were leaving Danville and then
of the gasoline prices at Marty's First Stop in Danville. Fred likes to keep his brother, Tom, posted on gas here. Tom retired from Texaco several years ago and they compare prices regularly - it's a guy thing, I guess.

It's
always good to get into town - we almost always see and hear interesting things. We visited two elderly friends who live at St. J. Rehab now. Both are doing very well. One was having her hair done and the hairdresser introduced us to her cat. She said since they were kittens she has brought one of her four cats to work with her nearly every day so the people can enjoy them. The cat was contentedly resting the the lap of a lady in a wheelchair. She was a yellow tiger with beautiful markings, and completely laid back.

I stopped at Kennedy's Jewelery Store on Main Street - Jim had done some work on my wedding rings and now they not only fit better, but look like new. He is a golfer and said last week he and his friends golfed in Bethlehem, NH on Tuesday and later in the week went to Ossipee, NH. Since we had just been through both towns last week we could appreciate how nice it must have been for them play those courses. The weather and foliage were great.

We know the Turners at Point Comfort have been anxious to sell; now we're hearing they have lowered the price considerably. If anyone has creative ideas about the place, now would be a good time to look into it.

After we took the original "Comments" page off the web site, we heard from a few people that they missed it. I'm happy to let you know it's back - a slightly different format, but you'll find it on the menu at the left of hom
e page. We hope you will log in and use it frequently to post concerns, opinions, or suggestions. We'll monitor it daily to keep it current. If you have any problems with it, get in touch with Fred or me at jpwebmaster@fairpoint.net.

Karen (Gruggel) Cobb, Narrows Drive, sent some beautiful fall pictures. I added the names of the cottages along W. Shore Rd. on the one below; the one on the right is looking southwest at the Decker cottage, also on W.Shore Rd. I wasn't sure whose place the one barely visible in the trees was (on the left above), but perhaps Karen will let us know.

Autumn here was certainly one of the best ever this year. After a summer of what could be termed "punk" weather, we appreciated the nice days and the color even more than usual. Things have changed and I'll probably be showing you the usual snow pictures from now until spring, so we can really appreciate these pictures as a farewell to fall.

The following was sent to me from Cabot School:
