Another glorious day here in the Kingdom. Diane Rossi went kayaking this morning and said it was a bit chilly, but this afternoon it had warmed up nicely. I guess we are in for a gradual change to cooler weather starting tomorrow and Thursday, but nothing too serious in the forecast so far. I took a few pictures this morning - there was a little bit of fog that burned off after the sun got higher in the sky. Tonight there was a beautiful moon. I tried to get a picture as it was partially covered with clouds, but didn't have much success - it went in and out behind the clouds quickly and I got only this one clear picture. I didn't have a tripod and it is difficult to keep the camera steady enough with lots of zoom. I tried.

I staked some of my small trees this afternoon and got a start on wrapping others to protect them from the heavy snow we might have again this winter. I still have a few more to do.

I also put out my snow measuring stick. I didn't put it out last year so had to guess at the snow depth. Last year it got to about a foot from the top of our grape arbor, and I think it is about six feet high. I don't expect that much snow again this year, though. I do expect it will be colder than usual, though.

Speaking of the grape arbor - we had lots of small purple grapes on our one vine, but as soon as the grapes were ripe and sweet enough to pick, the birds got them. It happens every year. I should probably pick them a day or so before they are perfectly ripe . . . but then, the birds need them more than I do, I guess. I think they would make very good grape jelly and probably produce a wond
erful wine. Maybe next year.

Another Adventure

This week turned out to be a doozie for me. I had anticipated going for a follow-up on my knee on Monday, but instead ended up in the ER at ...
