I'm happy to report that Hazel Greaves found the oar that floated away a little while ago. A neighbor had found it but didn't know who it belonged to until she saw the notice here. Hazel called tonight to let us know she now has it back, and to thank everyone who may have kept an eye out for it.

I went to Cabot Village for a meeting this evening. I took the camera with me in case I saw some wild life along the way. Nothing was moving about, but as usual, the view from the cemetery was gorgeous. There were rather large rain drops falling at the time I took this picture, but there was still sunshine on the mountains to the west as the sun was going down.

I have been asked to remind you of the Harvest Supper on Thursday evening at the church in Cabot. There will be only one setting (sitting?) - I've never been quite sure which word I should use - but you know what I mean. Serving begins at 5:30. There will be vegetables, preserves, and other good a things to eat for sale, sort of like a farmers' market, and the supper menu features flannel hash, ham, beans, rolls, etc., and lots of homemade pies. The annual harvest supper is put on to raise money to help pay for the upkeep of the church building. This year it has been necessary to repair and refurbish the pews after many years of use. Tickets at the door, $7.00.
