I just received a message from a member of the Sousa family that owns the farm where the cell tower will be installed on a silo. Apparently I was not up to date with the information, and the silo will still be able to be used. The last I'd heard installation was going inside and that meant access would be gained by cutting into the silo; the message I rec'd today didn't give details, but I'm guessing installation will be on the outside, the same as on the Bothfeld silo on West Hill, and the silo will not be compromised. Actually, that was the only reservation I had about it; it seemed too bad to spoil a perfectly good silo, so I'm really glad to get that cleared up. Thanks to our neighbors, the Sousa family, we should have cell service in the near (I hope) future. We've tried to contact Unicel to find out when we might expect the tower to be up and running, but with no success.

I don't know what happened to the Cabot students who were going to pick up returnable cans and bottles yesterday - nobody came here, and I haven't heard anything. As far as I know, Kevin Johnson's Boy Scout troop will be collecting on Saturday, July 12, so hold onto your stash of returnables, if you can, until then.
