I'm posting some pictures I took of the snow yesterday (Sunday) after the last snow storm had subsided. The first picture is what I now see when I look out my kitchen window. Fred had cleared the driveway three times during the day Saturday, and was relieved to find only six or eight inches more had fallen overnight. You can see there was a little drifting at the end of our driveway where Fred is with the snowblower. I also took one looking down at the path that leads around the house and the banks we have to scale in order to go snowshoeing. Fred has been using the snowblower to clear the walkway, but the banks are getting so high he has to shoot the snow really high to get it over the top. When there is a car parked on the lower level of our drive, we can't see it from the house, even though we are on a much higher level. I can't imagine what it will be like if we get a sudden warm spell . . . we may end up being washed down the hill into the pond.

The weather has warmed a bit today, and we even had a little freezing rain early in the day, but I don't think the snow melted much at all. Perhaps it settled a bit . . . We are expecting some nasty weather for town meeting tomorrow, and according to Gary Sadowsky on WCAX this noon, more and worse weather on Wednesday. The month of March is always fun. Speaking of town meeting, if anyone wants to know the results of the two contested openings, one for town clerk and the other a three-year term on the select board, you can go to www.cabotvt.us and there will be a "ticker tape" report there as soon as the results are known. Web master, Bill Walters said votes should be counted by mid to late evening tomorrow. We will be at town meeting with Bill and Diane Rossi. I don't know about Bill, but I believe this will be Fred's first experience at town meeting. I expect the men will find it an interesting experience.

I also want to remind you that Dave Parker is scheduled for his interview with Jay Thomas on Sirius Radio at 4:35 p.m. tomorrow - found at Channel102. We'd like to hear from anyone who is able to hear that interview. Anyone who has seen Jay Thomas in any television shows or in the movies knows he can be a funny man. I have to say, though, Dave Parker is no slouch when it comes to a sense of humor - he has a really neat dry wit, so it should be a good show.
