October Weekend at Joe's Pond

This was a beautiful weekend here at the pond. We had a little rain on Saturday, but that only served to brighten the foliage colors and Sunday turned into a gloriously bright day - a bit on the cool side, but typically October. Lots of folks were out doing last-of-the-season chores.

We spotted folks out for a boat ride, then at the Talbot's cottage there was a fast-paced game of croquet going on. Further down the road we found Phil and Joyce Rogers basking in the sun on their porch. Not much work going on at this end of W. Shore Rd.!

When we got to our cottage, we found son, Bill Dimick, busy doing windows. As you can see, I thoroughly enjoyed sittingand watching the work going on.

On the way back we stopped briefly to say hi to Bill and Diane Rossi and Fred took a picture across the pond from their house. Did you ever see the water any bluer?

Then up the road a piece, there were the guys at Talbot's. The game was over and they'd been working hard getting boats and docks in. We continued on home and took one last picture as the sun was disappearing. The hilltops above Rt. 15 glowed and our trees along the roadside in front of our house were brilliant.

All things considered, it was a very nice Sunday afternoon walk.

This afternoon I had a short message from Cherese Mason about her doggie treats. You'll also find a site - on the home page, you'll find a complete description. Click on
