
We awoke to a dazzlingly beautiful day this morning. Here at Joe's Pond I'd guess we got 10 to 12 inches of snow. Oldest son, Bill, called last night after he got home (to the family cottage on W.Shore Rd.) and asked what the heck happened up here - he said St. Johnsbury area had three or four inches of snow, and he was amazed when he got here and found he had to shovel his way into the driveway. We're getting a good taste of winter, but at least for today it's more like spring. However, by the first of the week the thermometers are going to show readings below zero - again. Just in time for town meeting on Tuesday. Perhaps it won't be as cold as predicted - and after all, it's March, so how much longer can winter be?

Both Fred and I were out taking pictures early this morning. I'll post a few for you. As I write this, around noon, we are beginning to lose our beautiful day, but the temperature is still around 40 degress, just as predicted! I hope you enjoy the photos - click on them to increase the size.

The men from FairPoint Communications were out before the storm, we think fixing one of their contact boxes where the man delivering the Times-Argus went over the bank earlier in the week (see earlier photo.)
