Flooding Again - Be Careful!!

We are fortunate that we didn't get the deluge of rain that parts of Danville and most of St. Johnsbury got last night. I measured .70 inches of rain in my gauge this morning.

WCAX is reporting that 7.5 in. of rain that fell in Danville, and a CoCoRaHS report in St. Johnsbury came in at 8.41in. this morning. The Passumpsic River that flows through St. Johnsbury is still rising with runoff from storms that hit north of there. Residents have been told to "shelter in place" because roads are washed out and crews need to be able to assess the damage.

If you have appointments this morning, call ahead to be sure you can still get there and/or that businesses are open. The Vermont Highway Department posts road closures, so check there before you head out. Route 5 is closed in several areas, and I'm sure other roads are severely impacted, as well. Stay safe, and DO NOT drive through water over roads - you don't know how deep the water is, or if there's even still a road under that water.
