Susan sent the sailing results yesterday, but I ran out of time and for that I apologize. Here is her report:
This Sunday was a
perfect day for the 2nd Sunfish Sailboat race after all the rain we have
had the past 2-3 weeks. The wind picked up during the afternoon which
made it a very competitive race.
In
the Single Division, Jack LaGue crossed the finish line just in front
of Jay Chatot as Jack was positioned on a starboard tack so he had the
right-of-way over Jay. For the Double Division, Lee Erdmann won but Joe
Cassani had the lead for a good part of the race.
The
final race for 2023 is scheduled Sunday, August 20th with the Award
Ceremony following the race. In addition to recognizing the winner of
the Single Division and the Double Division, we will present a plaque to
the Most Improved Sailor in honor of Dr. Fred Silloway. The Silloway
family generously donated the proceeds from the sale of their father’s
Sunfish Sailboat to JPA to be used for the sailing community.

The top photo is the beginning of the race - beautiful day, but choppy water. Pictured at right: Single Division winner, Jack LaGue (top), and Double Division winners, Lee Erdmann and Laela, (below).
The next race is scheduled for August 20.
