HAPPY MOTHERS DAY1

Mothers Day is always a joy for me and I treasure the beautiful cards, flowers and hand-written messages my sons always remember me with, I am feel so very fortunate to have all three of my offspring and their beautiful wives close enough so I see them frequently and I appreciate all of them every single day. I'm truly blessed, and a Happy Mother every day.

There has been a nice wind today. I say "nice" because it keeps the black flies off me when I'm outside. I think it's early for black flies, but my dad always said they arrive about the same time as the wild cherry blossoms, and I noticed a cherry up at the edge of my woods is blooming - so no surprise that the black flies found me yesterday when I was outside. Today they didn't bother - too hard to make a landing with the strong crosswinds, I guess.

My friend, Mary Whitcomb sent some wonderful photos last week that I want to share with you. She goes on various treks to favorite spots in this general area (where she grew up), and always gets awesome shots. Here's a great video Mary made on this trip, too. Bottoms Up!

I haven't had many visitors to my pond yet this year, but the peepers are singing -- or they were for the last two nights. Tonight may be a bit too chilly for them. I think warm nights make those little toads sing, and when it gets into the low 40s or high 30s, they hunker down someplace and remain very quiet. I have been listening for them each evening for at least a week, and Thursday night I finally heard them at my pond. Last night they were very vocal.

I want to share the coming week's road report on the Route 2 work between Danville and Marshfield:
