Buoy Marker Found

Jamie had let me know that he found the buoy marker in the middle pond, on the southeast shore next to Route 2 It still had about two feet of chain attached, so he's glad to know it isn't out in the lake someplace where an unsuspecting boater might run over it and damage a prop. Where we have a calm day, he will go out to Sunken Island and retrieve whatever is left and get the repairs made and the marker out. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who has been keeping an eye out for the escaped detergent bottles. We had one lead, and that was how Jamie finally found it. Many thanks!

We are enjoying another bright, sunny day, but there is a very strong, cool wind which is great if one is working outside, but I found opening up the house and letting the fresh air in made the house too chilly. I've closed windows and put on a little heat this afternoon. It's still a beautiful day, and I'm grateful to have been able to do some work outside this morning.

The leaves are beginning to show on some of our trees - maples, lilac bushes, poplars and willows are all showing soft green color on the hillsides - and I mowed a patch of lawn near the sun porch where it had grown pretty tall. Most of the lawn will not need mowing for a few days, at least, and there are still spots where there isn't much green at all. We'll get there! My daffies are looking good, as is the forsythia! The pond is full, there are a few frogs, but I still haven't heard any peepers. I'm thinking it's just too cold for them!
