One Flag Listing

Diane sent this picture this morning - one flag is listing precariously, but it is all frozen solidly this morning after the temperature dipped down to 14 degrees overnight. Today is sunny and warmer, but still only 30 degrees in the shade. There is a little wind, but not like yesterday.

I am remembering years when Fred and I were involved with the Ice-Out Contest, having the clock stop at least two, and maybe three times, on Easter. At least once it was when we had a houseful of company and dinner on the table. There is absolutely no chance that will happen this year!

We have a very warm spell coming up this week, and that will begin the melting process in earnest, I expect. Still, with 20+ inches of ice on the pond, it will be a while before we see blue water out there!

Have a happy Easter, everyone.
