Wake Boat Poll Results

The following notice came from Joe Hebert, Joe's Pond Association president, this morning:

I want to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the poll regarding wake boat use on Joes Pond and share the results. 123 camps responded with over 75% voting to support the petition of the Responsible Wakes for Vermont Lake organization which has asked the state to impose a 1000 foot from shore limit in at least 20 feet of water. It is important to note that as mentioned in the poll question, this potential restriction only applies to wake boats operating in a sporting mode such as wake surfing. Non- sporting activities would not be limited.

The Department of Environmental Conservation which has to date proposed a 500 foot limit continues to evaluate public opinion and data and has the ultimate responsibility to develop a final recommendation. As far as I am aware there is no definitive time when this will occur.

President JPA
