Fathers' Day and Joe's Pond News!

First of all, Happy Father's Day to all of you dads out there. When I think about it, being a father is probably one of the most demanding jobs anyone can undertake -- right up there with being a mom! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your special day.

I had a note this morning from Susan Bouchard regarding next week's Sunfish Race:

The first Sunfish Sailboat race for 2022 will be Sunday, June 26th. The Commodore will start blowing the horn at 1pm sharp to start the race. The rules and registration forms can be found on the JPA website https://www.joespondvermont.com on the Home page and the Event page.

Please return the signed registration form back to me before you enter the race.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

We hope you enjoy watching the sailboat races but please remember to remain away from the course prior to the start and throughout its completion.

Happy Sailing

A message came from Barbara Chase a few minutes ago about the injured loon. She said Eric Hansen came today and captured the bird and is taking him to the VINS Nature Center in Quechee, Vermont. Hopefully, the bird will get necessary medical care and recover. I hope Eric will let us know how it all turns out, and I will try to remember to follow up.  Barbara sent this picture of the disabled loon. Many thanks to Barbara for the update.

I hope there is a good outcome for the poor loon. VINS will often have information on their Face Book page about birds that they are rehabbing. I’ll keep an eye out gor any updates.

Busy Week Ahead!

This will be a very busy week with the Fourth of July activities and every community in the north country having picnics, parades, and fest...
