I have tickets for the Italian dinner Sat . July 24th . Tickets are $16, please contact me at 684-3655. Menu is barbecued chicken, mostaccioli, salad, rolls and eclair.
This promises to be another great evening - amazing food in the company of good friends and a chance to meet your neighbors and make new friends. I think there will be a social hour beginning at 5 p.m. and dinner will be at around 6. Appetizers to share are always welcome, or just come and enjoy!

I just returned from getting shots (both eyes) for AMD (Age=related Macular Degeneration) so I'm operating at something of a disadvantage here. My eyes have to be dilated, and on a bright day, that is always problematic - plus when the anesthesia begins to wear off, there is sometimes a residue of the antiseptic the doctor uses on the spot where the injection will go, that might not have been fully rinsed away, and that stings. Actually, that's the most uncomfortable part of this whole procedure. Each time seems to be a little different. My vision was good today - one eye was the same as last time, the other had improved slightly. I cannot complain about that! That makes the shot process worthwhile, for sure.
Randy Chamberlain is here today with Curt, his assistant, and they are going full steam ahead on my new porch. I am going to try to get the cedar lumber stained and ready for them - but I cannot work on that until my eyes get back to normal. Perhaps by this afternoon. In the meantime, saws are buzzing, hammers pounding - good sounds, for sure. When my eyes are less light sensitive, later today, I'll take some pictures. I want to keep a record of this process - always interesting to look back on.
The weather is cooperating - the sun came out as the morning progressed, and it's very bright and comfortably warm. There may be storms late this afternoon, and unsettled weather again tomorrow, but I'm hoping no downpours that will hinder work on the porch. Randy said it should move along pretty quickly once everything gets moved around to accommodate the addition. I think there's only one more obstacle, and that is a baseboard heating element that has to be moved to another wall. That said, it's difficult to find people who have time available to do these jobs. Everyone is backed up and scheduling work weeks in advance. A lot of pent up work going on as a result of the pandemic, I guess. Some businesses have had difficulty finding employees willing to come back to work, and materials are scarce. Apparently the price of building materials that had skyrocketed earlier this year are beginning to come down. That is one benefit of my project having been delayed from when I began making plans back in the spring!
